Journalistes de France 3 Paris Île-de-France agressés lors d’un reportage

Two journalists from the Cergy-Pontoise office were deliberately targeted by projectiles during a report on the mobilization of firefighters from Val-d’Oise this Thursday. A journalist was slightly injured. A complaint has been filed.

Our colleague Maïla Mendy, a video journalist at the France 3 Paris-Île-de-France office in Cergy-Pontoise, was targeted several times by firecrackers while covering the demonstration of firefighters from Val-d’Oise, mobilized this Thursday for salary demands. A first projectile hit her on the chin and a second on the top of her leg, causing slight injuries.

The incidents occurred at the Departmental Directorate of Firefighters, within the premises of the Neuville-sur-Oise barracks, while the video journalist was clearly identified and had called for calm. Assaulted in the line of duty, our colleague filed a complaint.

The CGT union representative of SDIS 95, Peter Gurruchaga, expressed being «sad». Jérôme François, Unsa delegate, on the other hand, stated «regretting the behaviors of some of his colleagues».

The Information, Regional Network of France Télévisions, and France 3 Paris Île-de-France directions «firmly condemn any aggression against journalists».

The management and editorial team of France 3 Paris-Île-de-France fully support Maïla Mendy. Une plainte a été déposée par Maïla Mendy, journaliste reporter d’images de France 3 Paris-Île-de-France, après avoir été agressée lors de la couverture d’une manifestation de sapeurs-pompiers.
