Beijing maintains that the Chinese economy is on track, despite the trade war with the United States, and asserts that it has «full confidence» in achieving a growth rate of around 5%, although other financial entities estimate a lower increase. Additionally, China has once again denied that its president and Trump have spoken on the phone and refuted the White House’s claims of any «progress» in trade matters.
