Le retour sans gloire des prisonniers de guerre français le 8 mai 1945

On May 8, 1945, a million prisoners of war are preparing to return to France after five years of captivity. Soldiers of the defeated army in 1940 are returning without glory to a country liberated from German occupation, where the true heroes are the members of the Resistance. President Emmanuel Macron will preside over the ceremonies on Thursday, May 8, 1945. In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Allied victory over Nazi Germany, the head of state will pay tribute and deliver a speech.
