Les anneaux olympiques ne seront pas de retour sur la tour Eiffel sans une modification de la loi.
La mairie va proposer un amendement au projet de loi dédié aux JO d’hiver de 2030 dans les Alpes, qui doit être examiné au Sénat le 24 juin, a expliqué Pierre Rabadan, adjoint à la maire socialiste en charge des sports et des Jeux olympiques, lors d’une conférence de presse.
Cet amendement vise à intégrer une dérogation permettant à la ville de Paris, propriétaire de la tour Eiffel, de «disposer de la marque» des anneaux olympiques, propriété du CIO, dans l’espace public et sur le monument en dehors de la période olympique, a détaillé l’élu.
«On n’attend plus que cette modification pour finaliser les discussions avec le CIO», a ajouté Pierre Rabadan, précisant que l’amendement devrait être introduit «soit par le gouvernement, soit par un parlementaire».
En cas de feu vert législatif, la ville lancera un appel d’offres et au vu des délais «incompressibles», le logo ne pourra pas être réinstallé «avant 2026», selon lui.
Les anneaux représentant les cinq continents, de 29 mètres de long et 15 mètres de haut, ont trôné durant les JO de Paris entre le premier et le deuxième étage de la tour Eiffel, avant d’être déposés fin septembre.
Anne Hidalgo avait annoncé leur retour sur le monument jusqu’aux JO de Los Angeles en 2028, mais avec un matériau «plus pérenne» que les anciens, fabriqués en acier recyclé et peu adaptés à une météo hivernale.
«Clin d’oeil symbolique», selon l’édile : ils seront projetés sur la tour Eiffel les 26 et 27 juillet pour l’anniversaire de la cérémonie d’ouverture des JO.

The city hall will propose an amendment to the bill dedicated to the 2030 Winter Olympics in the Alps, which is set to be examined in the Senate on June 24, as explained by Pierre Rabadan, deputy to the socialist mayor in charge of sports and the Olympic Games, during a press conference.
This amendment aims to incorporate an exception allowing the city of Paris, owner of the Eiffel Tower, to «use the brand» of the Olympic rings, property of the IOC, in public spaces and on the monument outside of the Olympic period, detailed the elected official.
«We are only waiting for this modification to finalize discussions with the IOC,» added Pierre Rabadan, specifying that the amendment should be introduced «either by the government or by a parliamentarian.»
In the event of legislative approval, the city will launch a call for bids and due to the «uncompressible» deadlines, the logo cannot be reinstalled «before 2026,» according to him.
The rings representing the five continents, 29 meters long and 15 meters high, stood during the Paris Olympics between the first and second floors of the Eiffel Tower, before being removed at the end of September.
Anne Hidalgo had announced their return to the monument until the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028, but with a «more sustainable» material than the old ones, made of recycled steel and not well-suited for winter weather.
«A symbolic gesture,» according to the mayor: they will be projected onto the Eiffel Tower on July 26 and 27 for the anniversary of the Olympic opening ceremony.
