La cavale d’Ilyas Kherbouch a pris fin vendredi 20 mars. Il s’était évadé de la prison de Villepinte, en Seine-Saint-Denis, le 7 mars dernier à l’aide de faux policiers. La BRI et la brigade nationale des fugitifs sont intervenues à Canet-en-Roussillon, dans les Pyrénées-Orientales, pour l’appréhender.

Sur une porte, les traces de l’assaut des forces de l’ordre sont encore visibles. C’est dans un appartement que la cavale d’Ilyas Kherbouch, alias «Ganito», a pris fin vendredi 20 mars dans la soirée, 14 jours après son évasion. Il a été interpellé dans un village vacances de Canet-en-Roussillon, en compagnie d’une femme. Selon les informations de France Télévisions, il s’agit d’une ancienne surveillante pénitentiaire de Villepinte, là où le détenu s’est évadé. Elle avait été radiée en 2025. Lors de leur interpellation, le fugitif et cette femme n’ont montré aucune résistance face aux policiers.
Toujours selon les informations de France Télévisions, ils avaient réservé le logement en ligne. Arrivés la veille, ils devaient repartir le lendemain. Pour rester discrets, la réservation était au nom de la femme. Le fugitif, lui, aurait changé d’apparence en se rasant les cheveux et la barbe.
Deux semaines de cavale, après une évasion rocambolesque. Le 7 mars dernier, trois hommes se présentaient à la maison d’arrêt de Villepinte (Seine-Saint-Denis). Deux se font passer pour des policiers. Ils présentent une réquisition signée d’un juge d’instruction pour extraire le détenu pour une garde à vue.

Ilyas Kherbouch had a troubling profile. At 21 years old, he was allegedly involved in 12 cases, including kidnapping, confinement, and armed robbery. He was serving multiple prison sentences for various offenses, including the 2022 assault on the Michelin-starred chef of the George V, Simone Zanoni. Two suspected accomplices, believed to be responsible for the escape of Ilyas Kherbouch, were also indicted last week.
The escape of Ilyas Kherbouch came to an end on Friday, March 20. He had escaped from the Villepinte prison in Seine-Saint-Denis on March 7 with the help of fake police officers. The BRI and the national fugitive brigade intervened in Canet-en-Roussillon, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, to apprehend him.
