50 ans de transports en Ile-de-France : rétrospective sur France 3 Paris Ile-de-France

The regional television in Ile-de-France is celebrating its 50th anniversary! Over the past half-century, thousands of reports have been filmed, many of which focused on the issue of transportation and its evolution. It’s a great opportunity to delve into the fascinating archives!

Establishment of the magnetic metro ticket in 1973, creation of the «carte orange» or the Navigo pass, and the end of paper ticket sales in 2025: FR3 and then France 3 Paris Ile-de-France have echoed the innovations in transportation over the decades, used daily by 9.4 million passengers.

Other key dates have marked the history of transportation. Who remembers, for example, the launch of the RER (Réseau Express Régional) in 1977 and its inauguration by President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing? It was also on this occasion that the Châtelet – Les Halles station was opened. Who also remembers the end of first class in the Paris metro? It may not seem so long ago, it was in 1991!
