In 2025, the justice system seized 1.44 billion euros from criminals in the context of criminal investigations, according to the report from the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (Agrasc) obtained by France Inter on Wednesday, January 28. This represents a 6.67% increase compared to 2024. However, the amount of confiscated assets, which are definitively transferred to the State after final conviction, has decreased. In 2025, 212 million euros were seized, compared to 244 million euros in 2024.
Out of the 212 million euros seized, Agrasc transferred 145 million to the State’s general budget. Agrasc also contributed 47 million euros to the interministerial mission to combat drugs and addictive behaviors (MILDECA), 27 million euros for victim compensation (a 144% increase compared to 2024), 3 million euros to the fund to combat pimping, and 37 million euros from the sale of properties, considering that Agrasc still has 670 properties to sell.
Additionally, four other seized properties were allocated to associations of public utility (a 100% increase compared to 2024), and 4,611 confiscated assets were allocated to the police, gendarmerie, and judicial services (a 21% increase compared to 2024).
Agrasc has also made significant contributions to various organizations and initiatives in the fight against crime and addiction. This includes a 47 million euro donation to MILDECA, a 27 million euro increase in victim compensation, and a 3 million euro contribution to the anti-pimping fund. Furthermore, Agrasc has generated 37 million euros from property sales, with 670 properties still available for sale.
The justice system’s efforts to combat criminal activities and support victims are reflected in the allocation of seized assets and funds to relevant programs and services. This demonstrates a commitment to upholding the law and ensuring that justice is served in cases of criminal activity. Keep the exact anchor texts of the links on
