Je n’ai pas le choix et je culpabilise pour ça», déplore Souade Douhi
Souade se bat pour faire enterrer sa mère à Bobigny. La quinquagénaire a vécu toute son adolescence dans ce cimetière. «Ce que vous voyez là-bas au fond, c’était la maison de mes parents. C’était la maison du gardien, de l’imam, de mon père», indique-t-elle.
La mère de Souade Douhi a travaillé 30 ans de sa vie à cet endroit. Au côté de son mari, elle accueillait les familles endeuillées. Jusqu’à sa mort, le 5 janvier, elle a formulé le souhait d’y être enterrée. «Elle était diminuée ces derniers temps, mais elle venait se promener. C’est un lieu qu’elle aimait», déclare sa fille.
La présidence du syndicat intercommunal du cimetière refuse l’inhumation à Bobigny. Pour la direction, l’affaire est close depuis l’enterrement à la Courneuve et pas question de nous en parler au micro.
«On ne peut pas me balayer d’un revers de main en me disant circuler, il n’y a plus rien à voir. Cette réponse, elle est juste inhumaine. Elle fait fi de l’action de ma mère, de l’action de mes parents et de la volonté de ma mère», s’indigne Souade Douhi.
La famille Douhi reste déterminée et compte demander l’exhumation de Zoubida afin d’obtenir son transfert à Bobigny, quitte à remuer ciel et terre pour y parvenir.

Zoubida Douhi refuses to accept that her mother is buried in La Courneuve. She requests that her burial be transferred to the Muslim cemetery in Bobigny. Her mother worked there for 30 years with her husband, who was an imam. However, authorities are now rarely granting burial permits in this cemetery.
In front of Zoubida Douhi’s grave, her daughter Souade is inconsolable. On January 12, the septuagenarian was buried in the Muslim section of La Courneuve cemetery against her will and that of her family. «Today, it’s just an empty lot. There she is, thrown, abandoned in the back, for me. I have no choice and I feel guilty about it,» laments Souade Douhi.
Souade is fighting to have her mother buried in Bobigny. The fifty-year-old spent her entire adolescence in this cemetery. «What you see in the back there was my parents’ house. It was the house of the caretaker, the imam, my father,» she points out.
Souade Douhi’s mother spent 30 years of her life in this place. Alongside her husband, she welcomed grieving families. Until her death on January 5, she expressed the wish to be buried there. «She was frail in her final days, but she would come for walks. It’s a place she loved,» her daughter states.
The intermunicipal cemetery union presidency refuses the burial in Bobigny. For the management, the matter is closed since the burial in La Courneuve, and they refuse to comment on it.
«You can’t just brush me off and tell me to move on, there’s nothing more to see. This response is simply inhumane. It disregards my mother’s actions, my parents’ actions, and my mother’s wishes,» Souade Douhi protests.
The Douhi family remains determined and plans to request the exhumation of Zoubida in order to have her transferred to Bobigny, even if it means turning the world upside down to achieve it.
