French Prime Minister, Sébastien Lecornu, invoked Article 49.3 of the Constitution on Tuesday, January 20, to push for the approval of part of his 2026 budget bill in the deeply divided Lower House without a vote. It is expected that opposition parties, including the far-left France Unbowed (LFI) and the far-right National Rally, will present motions of censure in response.
