The representative of the FFMC (French Federation of Angry Motorcyclists) reminds us: not long ago, a poorly patched pothole caused «damage to over twenty vehicles in the Mont-Saint-Aignan area«.
«If it managed to destroy twenty tires, imagine the consequences on a two-wheeler,» he worries.
Sometimes the danger is unsuspected… He gives another example: a speed bump (a rectangular device designed to slow down vehicles) that no longer has any grooves, which means there is no traction for users.
«It’s slippery right away even in dry weather. He added, «In addition to that, the fastenings that break and unfortunately the fall is inevitable,» he regrets.
In response to a national call, about twenty motorcyclists gathered in Rouen to raise awareness of the danger of potholes.

Il souligne un incident récent où un nid-de-poule mal rebouché a causé des dommages à plus de vingt véhicules à Mont-Saint-Aignan. Il met en garde contre les conséquences potentiellement graves sur les deux-roues en cas de telles détériorations. Il mentionne également un exemple de coussin berlinois sans adhérence, mettant en évidence les dangers cachés pour les usagers, notamment les motards.
Xavier Watteel exprime sa préoccupation quant à la sécurité routière en raison du manque d’entretien des chaussées, soulignant le risque élevé de chutes. Il souligne que la FFMC s’engage à sensibiliser sur ces problématiques et travaille sur une application pour recenser les routes endommagées et informer les usagers.
Des actions de sensibilisation ont été menées par plusieurs motards à travers la France pour alerter sur les dangers des nids-de-poule. Ces initiatives visent à promouvoir une meilleure prise en charge de l’entretien des routes pour assurer la sécurité de tous les usagers.
Il est essentiel de rester vigilant sur l’état des chaussées et de prendre des mesures préventives pour éviter les accidents liés à des problèmes de voirie. La FFMC continue son travail de sensibilisation et de mobilisation pour un meilleur entretien des routes et une sécurité accrue pour tous les usagers. «
