L’homme suspecté d’avoir organisé un faux mariage samedi à Disneyland Paris, qui jouait le rôle du marié censé épouser une enfant de 9 ans, a été mis en examen et écroué pour escroquerie, abus de confiance, blanchiment et usurpation d’identité, a annoncé mardi 24 juin le parquet de Meaux. Le ministère public l’a placé sous le statut de témoin assisté pour le fait de corruption de mineur.
La justice française a appris, sur information des autorités britanniques, que cet homme de 39 ans «aurait été condamné par le passé, notamment pour des infractions à caractère sexuel sur des mineurs», écrit le procureur de Meaux, Jean-Baptiste Bladier, dans un communiqué. Ce Britannique est actuellement recherché dans son pays pour un manquement aux obligations du fichier britannique des auteurs d’infractions sexuelles sur lequel il est inscrit, précise le document. Cet homme jouait «le rôle du marié après avoir été maquillé de manière professionnelle afin d’afficher un visage totalement différent du sien», avait précisé dimanche le procureur.
A 24-year-old Latvian national, who played the role of the bride’s sister at the event, has been placed under the status of assisted witness.
The justice system is still seeking to clarify the circumstances of this fake wedding organized early Saturday morning at the private tourist complex, about thirty kilometers east of Paris, in Seine-et-Marne. The event caused deep discomfort as the supposed bride was a 9-year-old Ukrainian girl. The investigations, initially conducted as «violence against a minor under 15 and fraud», revealed that «this wedding was actually a fictional ceremony intended to be privately filmed», according to details provided Sunday by the prosecutor.
The British sponsor allegedly «recruited, with the help of a Latvian citizen, other Latvian nationals to ensure the smooth running of the event, as well as a hundred French extras, falsely presented to Disneyland Paris as the wedding guests», the prosecution also said. The prosecutor had stated on Sunday that the Ukrainian child, who arrived in France two days before the event, did not suffer «any physical or sexual violence» and «was not forced to play this role» of the bride.
