In 2026, a trial is set to take place following an investigation triggered in 2022 after the discovery of undocumented workers on the construction sites of the Olympic Games, according to the prosecutor.
The trial is expected to last two weeks at the beginning of 2026, as stated by the public ministry, confirming information from L’Equipe. This legal process began with a report from a monitoring service of the regional direction of the economy, employment, labor, and solidarity (DRIEETS), itself triggered after a report from the CGT.
The undocumented workers targeted by this report were employed by a subcontracting company «whose ramifications and involvement go beyond the Olympic sites,» a source close to the case told AFP in March 2022.
Out of the 24 defendants, four are being prosecuted for using the services of an employer of a foreigner not authorized to work, and the others for organized employment of a foreigner without a work permit, as specified by the Bobigny prosecutor’s office.
«Numerous seizures (real estate and bank accounts) were made during the investigation against the various defendants,» added the prosecutor. When contacted by AFP, Solideo, the company in charge of constructing the Olympic facilities, did not respond.
